MiCLU mourn the loss of and pay tribute to Luljeta Nuzi, founder and former CEO of Shpresa Programme who passed away following a protracted fight with cancer yesterday morning.
Luljeta was the person who created the Breaking the Chains Project, our partnership project with Shpresa Programme of which we are so proud, and through which we have learned so much. Her passion and commitment will always be our guiding light.
Luljeta (Luli as she was known to many), was a visionary, inspirational, warmhearted yet formidable woman and friend who touched the lives of thousands of members of the UK Albanian community and beyond, who never took ‘no’ for an answer and who worked tirelessly to protect the vulnerable and challenge injustices.
Luli believed in the dignity of every human being.
We wish to express our condolences to Luli’s family and to the wider Shpresa Programme community. No words can truly express how much we will miss her.
