Free training seminar for legal practitioners about running Albanian asylum cases, hosted by Garden Court Chambers.
Speakers will include Ronan Toal and Claudia Neale of Garden Court Chambers and Alice Garrod of Islington Law Centre. Young Immigration Champions will also share their experiences as asylum seekers.
Recent government policies intentionally reduced the grant rate for Albanian asylum seekers at first instance. Despite Albania being recognised as a major source country for human trafficking, Albanians now also face increased challenges in gaining recognition as victims of modern slavery – yet increasingly they were among the most successful nationalities in bringing asylum appeals, with more than 60% of such challenges succeeding in 2024.
The seminar will focus on how and why legal representatives should run Albanian asylum initial applications, appeals and fresh claims, and how to work with young asylum seekers and victims of trafficking to achieve the best possible outcome.
Tickets are available to attend either online or in person but we strongly recommend you come in person for the best experience!
